The story of Shine begins with a simple question. What would our churches, community and city look like if we added personal transformation to mobilization? Well…According to the Bible we would have an unstoppable movement, propelled by the Holy Spirit, that would see real hope & change brought to the places where we do everyday life. This movement would not only transform followers of Jesus to be more like him, but would also mobilize us to impact the lives of others for him. Shine desires to be a church where imperfect people can seek God together, be comfortable “removing our masks” to reveal our struggles, love one another unconditionally and grow into followers of Jesus that go out and bring more people into this movement.
Pastor Jaron left behind a promising corporate engineering career to embark upon this amazing pursuit back in 2011. During that year, He & his wife Eboni felt a strong sense that God was calling them to lead and disciple imperfect people to become His living, breathing answers to issues in our community. They believed that putting their lives and careers on the altar, in order to carry out God’s mission, was worth the sacrifice. Pastor Jaron graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary-Houston (ThM) in 2016 and completed a church-planting residency at Crossover Bible Fellowship Church prior to launching Shine Bible Fellowship in October of 2016. The mission to daily pursue Christ, to daily transform our world has been guiding the church since day one.
Eboni is a CPA and a native Houstonian, with accounting degrees from Dillard University and the University of Virginia. She enjoys watching home improvement shows, hanging out with family & friends, eating seafood, dancing at family reunions and spending time with their two girls, Chloe & Kendal. Pastor Jaron & Eboni have been married since 2007.
Since Shine has launched, God’s power and blessings have been seen in amazing ways! People have been baptized, dozens are being discipled, leaders are being trained and mobilized, hundreds of hours have been served in the community, money has been invested outside of the four walls of the church to advance the gospel. The future of Shine is bright and God has many great things in store for this church.
